The Senate is set to reconvene for an emergency plenary sitting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, gave the directive for the reconvening of lawmakers, according to a statement issued on Monday.

The statement, signed by the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Emmanuel Odo, called on all senators to attend the emergency session without exception.

It stated that the sitting would commence at 12 noon.

Although the agenda for the emergency plenary was not disclosed in the statement, the development has heightened expectations of deliberations on pressing national issues requiring urgent legislative attention.

The Senate had earlier adjourned plenary but is now returning following the directive by the Senate President.
