Senator Fadeyi Delivers 105 Projects in Just 18 Months
Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has completed 105 constituency projects within 18 months of his inauguration, a development he attributes to his commitment to his family name and legacy.
Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly complex, Fadeyi emphasized that leadership should be about impact rather than tenure. He stated that a leader’s performance should be measured by tangible contributions to society, rather than the number of years spent in office.
“When you know where you are coming from, you will know what to do,” he said. “Your family is very key. If one’s parents have put a legacy down, then you want to spread the name. The motivation is from my family name. I could not afford to do less I have to even do more.”
His achievements in infrastructure include the construction and rehabilitation of major roads across Osun Central, improving connectivity and easing transportation challenges for residents. Additionally, his rural electrification projects have brought stable electricity to communities that previously struggled with unreliable power supply.
One of the senator’s most notable interventions is the completion of a substation electricity project in Ila-Orangun, which now provides power to seven local government areas. This project, he noted, has significantly improved access to electricity for both residential and commercial use.
Fadeyi has also made significant contributions to healthcare, facilitating the construction of mother-and-child centers in key towns. These facilities have improved maternal and infant healthcare services, reducing mortality rates and ensuring better health outcomes for women and children.
In a bid to address water scarcity, the senator spearheaded the installation of solar-powered boreholes in several communities. This initiative has provided thousands of residents with access to clean drinking water, improving sanitation and reducing waterborne diseases.
The education sector has also benefited from his legislative efforts. His N50 million annual bursary scheme has supported over 1,500 students across various academic levels, including postgraduate and professional programs. He has also invested in the renovation of schools to create a more conducive learning environment.
To boost economic empowerment, Fadeyi has supported farmers with essential farming equipment, including tractors and fertilizers. He has also facilitated training programs for young Nigerians, sending some to China for specialized courses in agriculture and energy conversion.
Reflecting on his motivation, the senator said he is deeply concerned about the economic hardship facing Nigerians and is committed to initiatives that will improve their standard of living. He stressed that leadership should be about service and making meaningful contributions to people’s lives.
As his tenure progresses, Fadeyi pledged to sustain his commitment to people-oriented projects, ensuring that his impact is felt across Osun Central and beyond.
