Alhaji Liman Tambari Wamakko, the older sibling of former Sokoto State Governor Senator Aliyu Wamakko, has reportedly died.
Wamakko died on Sunday evening in Sokoto.
According to reports, the deceased died after a brief illness at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto.
The late Liman Tambari’s burial prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Wamakko Central Mosque, Liman Shehu Ardo Wamako.
The funeral prayer was attended by the deceased’s younger brother, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, SSG Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, and former Minister of Police Affairs Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi.
Former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Tanzania, Amb. Sahabi Isah Gada, as well as members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, the State Executive Council, and Special Advisers, were also in attendance.
Others included Galadiman Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru Galadanci, traditional rulers, lawmakers, and Ulamas, as well as several other prominent figures from both within and outside Sokoto State.
Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, speaking shortly after the late Ubandoma’s burial, stated that death is inevitable.
He admonished, “Therefore, every soul will surely test it one day.
“It is inevitable for all mortals to depart this world only at God’s appointed time.”
According to Tribune, the Senator reflected on the past, recalling how their family formerly comprised of eleven individuals, including the late Ubandoma Liman Tambari. However, just three of them survive now.
He begged Almighty Allah to forgive all the sins of the dead and grant him Jannatul Firdausi as his ultimate resting place.
Sen. Wamakko also used the opportunity to thank everyone who attended his older brother’s funeral, asking that Allah would bless them abundantly.
Mallam Muhammadu Dangande Wamakko, the Chief Imam of Dinkyal Jumu’at Mosque in the state’s Wamakko Local Government Area, led a special prayer for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace.
Liman Tambari Wamakko died at the age of 86, leaving behind three spouses and fifteen children.
