Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has drawn a clear line on road travel in Nigeria, declaring she avoids trips beyond the Lagos–Ibadan corridor due to security concerns and poor infrastructure.

The movie star made the disclosure during a recent interview with media personality VJ Adams, where she explained that while she enjoys road trips abroad, she prefers air and marine transport within Nigeria.

Bello said her stance has reshaped her social life, as friends now hesitate to invite her to events that require long-distance road travel. According to her, the risks associated with Nigerian highways make such journeys unattractive.

“I prefer water and air transportation. I don’t like road trips. I can do road trips abroad but in Nigeria, no, thank you,” she said.

She added that she only considers road travel within the country if the destination is close or the person she is visiting is extremely important to her.

“Once it is farther than Ibadan, count me out,” Bello stated, noting that her reputation for declining long road trips is now well known among her friends.
