Tunji Wusu –
At his residence in Abuja on Thursday, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello received Prince Shaibu Audu Abubakar, the State’s nomination for a cabinet position.
Governor Bello remarked during the meeting that Shaibu Audu’s selection as a minister-designate was a result of his fidelity, endurance, and patriotism to the state and the country.
In accepting the outcome of the APC governorship primary election in April and withdrawing his appeal in favor of the state’s candidate, the nominee displayed a noble quality passed down from his late father, Prince Abubakar Audu.
Governor Bello emphasized the father of Shaibu Audu, who fought for a united Kogi State, leaving a lasting legacy.
He expressed hope that Shaibu Audu’s position as a minister would help his father’s standing as a politician in Nigeria who could work across ethnic lines.
Governor Bello emphasized that Audu’s nomination was in line with his politics of equality, fairness, and justice, which recognize and value every individual in the state regardless of tribe or religion. He assured Audu of his unshakable support and encouragement once he occupies the ministerial position.
He expressed confidence that Shaibu Audu’s remarkable résumé and strong educational foundation will ensure his success in any ministry he leads.
The governor’s backing, according to Audu, who claimed the visit was made to show appreciation for the governor’s constant support.
