Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and self-employment during his address at the 24th combined convocation ceremony of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID). As he received an honorary doctorate degree, Shettima encouraged the graduates to break away from the traditional reliance on governmental job opportunities.

In his speech, Shettima acknowledged that the era of depending solely on the government for employment and solutions to personal challenges had come to an end.
