Ag. IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, the acting inspector general of police, has mandated the assignment of 35 commissioners of police to various state commands and formations across the nation.
This came after the Police Service Commission had approved his nomination.
CP Adelesi Oluwarotimi, CP Adebola Ayinde Hamzat, CP Augustina Ogbodo, CP Samuel Titus Musa, CP Auwal Musa, CP Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye, CP Auwal Musa to Bauchi State Command, CP Alamatu Abiodun Mustapha to Ogun State Command are a few of the newly appointed commissioners of police.
Others include CP Margaret Ochalla, who will lead the Police Special Fraud Unit Annex in Lagos, CP Banji Ogunrinde, who will oversee the Explosive Ordnance Unit, CP Rhoda Olofu, who will work for the Ports Authority Police Western in Lagos, CP Kareem Musa, who will work for Interpol Annex in Lagos, CP Audu Dabigi, who will work for the Border Patrol Force, CP Abibo Reuben,
The IGP instructed the newly appointed commissioners of police to adhere to his policies, vision, and mission for the Nigerian Police Force while prioritizing the safety and well-being of the people they serve. They were also instructed to uphold the values of fairness, professionalism, and respect for human rights. According to the force’s press secretary, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
The inspector general of police charged them with promoting intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention strategies, and community engagement initiatives that will increase public trust and confidence in the Nigerian Police Force. He also urged them to serve as exemplary leaders, cultivating harmonious relationships with other security agencies, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
The IGP further guaranteed that the postings are consistent with the police leadership’s commitment to maintaining efficient law enforcement, security, and the maintenance of law and order in Nigeria.
