SOON, THE NIGER GOVERNMENT EXPECTS PRIVATE AIRLINES TO START OFFERING COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS.

According to the Niger State Government, discussions have begun with private airline owners about starting commercial flying operations in the State.

This information was provided by Governor Umaru Bago during an inspection of the Minna Airport’s ongoing runway and terminal renovation operations.

The state government will welcome the contractor and see how it will take over the project for immediate completion, according to the governor, who expressed concern over the terminal’s construction’s slow progress.

He claimed that once the terminal is finished, the state will be able to start conducting commercial flights there.

In order to have a terminal and a functioning airport, the state government wants to ask the contractor to explore how we may interfere and, if necessary, take over the project.

We are in talks with certain private airline operators about coming to Niger state because we want to offer commercial flights, he added.

The Governor expressed satisfaction with the level of work completed on the runway project and expressed optimism that it would be finished before August 15, 2023.

The runway project’s contractor promised to stick to the deadline since asphalt would be put by Tuesday of next week and the runway would be ready for use as of this month’s 16th.
