SpaceX has reported $7.8 billion in second-quarter 2026 revenue, surpassing the consensus estimate of $6.93 billion, as Starlink and SpaceXAI continued to drive growth. The latest SpaceX earnings show Starlink contributed $4.3 billion, while SpaceXAI generated $2.6 billion. Despite the strong revenue performance, the company posted a net loss of $541 million, which was significantly better than the projected $1.94 billion loss.
During the earnings call, Elon Musk revealed that SpaceX will exclusively use NVIDIA GPUs going forward, with the Vera Rubin platform powering its future data centres. He also announced that the company’s upcoming AI1 satellites will use NVIDIA’s Space-1 Vera Rubin module, featuring four Rubin GPUs, two Vera CPUs, extensive memory, liquid radiators, meteoroid shielding, deployable solar arrays, and a centralised computing module. These satellites will be produced at SpaceX’s Gigasat facility in Texas.
The SpaceX earnings update also outlined ambitious computing targets. The company expects to bring 2 gigawatts of computing capacity online by the end of 2026 and aims for closer to 10 than 5 gigawatts by the end of 2027, supported by an estimated 20-gigawatt power and cooling infrastructure.
According to the company’s Chief Financial Officer, SpaceXAI has secured cloud computing contracts with a payback period of less than one year. The business has already signed $6.7 billion in cloud deals during the opening weeks of the third quarter and plans to continue renting out much of its computing capacity, with only 10 per cent dedicated to training future versions of the Grok AI model.
Discussing industry challenges, Elon Musk highlighted the growing shortage of memory chips, saying demand is rising far faster than supply, pushing prices higher. He also projected that SpaceX could reach $1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030, while expecting the company to exceed $100 billion in annual recurring revenue by the end of this year.
Musk also confirmed that Starlink Mobile is targeting competition with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile by deploying low-power cellular base stations on existing Starlink dishes. Looking ahead, he said SpaceX aims to achieve one Starship launch per day by 2027, with human missions to the Moon planned for 2028.
