Babatunji Wusu –

Rejecting claims that it dropped a bomb on Maulud celebrations in Tudun Biri, a community in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has issued a statement.

According to estimates, the tragedy on Sunday night at around 9:00 p.m. claimed the lives of roughly thirty persons.

In an interview with Channels TV, the Nigerian Air Force denied being in charge of the bomb that was dropped in Tudun Biri.

“Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the media officer for the Air Force, stated in a WhatsApp message that the Nigerian Air Force has not conducted any air operations within Kaduna State and environs in the past 24 hours.”

He added, “Other services in the region are also using combat-armed drones, in addition to the Nigerian Air Force.”

The governor of Kaduna State called an emergency security meeting after the event.

The Nigerian Air Force’s Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command is present at the conference, which is being presided over by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe.

The Nigerian Army’s One Mechanized Division’s garrison commander, Kaduna State’s commissioner of police, and Samuel Aruwan, the overseer of the state’s ministry of internal security and home affairs, are also there.
