Spotify Crowns Burna Boy as 2025’s Top Afrobeats Artist, Davido Missing from Chart

Streaming powerhouse Spotify has unveiled its 2025 Top Afrobeats Artists, with Nigerian stars completely dominating the rankings.

Burna Boy clinched the number one spot, solidifying his global influence, while Rema and Wizkid followed closely in second and third place. Asake and Roc Nation’s newest signee, Ayra Starr, rounded out the top five, marking her steady rise in the genre.

Notably absent from the list is Davido, often hailed as one of Afrobeats’ “Big 3” alongside Wizkid and Burna Boy, a gap that has already stirred conversations across fan bases.

Spotify also revealed the leading markets fueling Afrobeats’ global reach. The United States topped consumption, trailed by Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Nigeria. The ranking reflects Afrobeats’ expanding footprint beyond Africa and its status as a cultural export.
