SPURS COACH CONTE UNDERGOES SURGERY TO REMOVE GALLBLADDER

Following a diagnosis of cholecystitis, Tottenham Hotspurs’ head coach Antonio Conte will have surgery to remove his gallbladder, the club said on Wednesday.

He is scheduled to come back after some rest. He had previously developed significant abdominal discomfort and was ill.

Spurs just agreed to a loan agreement to bring in Spanish right back Pedro Porro from Sporting of Portugal for the remainder of the current campaign with the option to make the agreement permanent in the summer.

At the weekend’s 3-0 FA Cup victory over Preston North End by Tottenham, Conte was in charge of the team’s coaching staff.

On Sunday, Spurs will play league champion Manchester City in their return to competition. They have 36 points from 21 games, which puts them seventh in the rankings.
