Sterling Nwabali has been given the chieftaincy title Ugo Egbema, which means “The Pride of Egbema Kingdom.” This is to honor the goalie for his superb performance at the recently finished 2023 AFCON.

Stanley Nwabali stopped two penalty kicks to assist the Super Eagles of Nigeria win their semi-final match against the South African team.

Regretfully, on Sunday, February 11, the former Enyimba of Aba goalie was unable to assist Nigeria in defeating the tournament hosts, Ivory Coast.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosted the squad in the presidential palace in Abuja, and since then, the majority of the players have been honored by various organizations and states around Nigeria.
