  • 26-year-old student battling kidney failure urgently needs ₦30 million for transplant

  • Prisca Nneka’s health has deteriorated, halting her education and work

  • Friends and NGOs appeal to Nigerians for donations to save her life

Udochukwu Prisca Nneka, a 26-year-old student of Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, is appealing for financial assistance to raise ₦30 million for a life-saving kidney transplant. Prisca, who hails from Abia State, is currently battling kidney failure and has been unable to continue her Higher National Diploma (HND) program due to her deteriorating health.

Her ordeal began in December 2024 with swelling in her legs and stomach. After undergoing tests at Gbagada General Hospital, she was diagnosed with severe kidney damage. “I dreamt of becoming an engineer, but now I just want to live,” she said, emotionally sharing her struggle.

Prisca’s condition has left her unable to work or attend school, and she has been told that a kidney transplant is her only chance for survival. However, the cost of the procedure, ₦30 million, is far beyond what her family can afford.

A close friend, Faith Joseph, has called on kind-hearted Nigerians to help save Prisca’s life. “She can’t go to school or do anything. We are pleading with the public to help us give Prisca a second chance,” Faith said. She also emphasized that dialysis treatments had become increasingly difficult to sustain due to financial constraints.

The Gifting Volunteer Network, an NGO supporting patients with critical health needs, has also joined the call, urging both individuals and corporate organizations to contribute toward the transplant.
