Pedri scored a close-range goal in the second half after coming off the bench to give Barcelona a spirited 1-0 victory over Girona in LaLiga on Saturday. This was his 100th game for the club.
After a Jordi Alba cross, the ball bounced off the goalkeeper in the 61st minute, allowing the 20-year-old to score.
In the 65th minute, Arnau Martinez’s shot was disallowed, and in the 88th, as Girona made a last-ditch effort to earn a point, Ivan Martin missed a sitter from close range.
With a game remaining and a Sunday home match against Real Sociedad in third place, Real Madrid sits six points behind Barcelona in the standings with 47 points.
We’ll have more soon.
