The Islamic organization Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikammatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has expressed disapproval towards the nation’s poverty, hunger, and lack of security.

In an effort to lessen the suffering that Nigerians are now going through, they made an appeal to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his Federal administration to change their stance on the elimination of subsidies.

In a statement released over the weekend following the conclusion of the 31st annual national seminar, which took place over the course of three days at the multipurpose University of Jos with the theme “Transformative Leadership Is The Basis of A United And Progressive Society (sic),” the Islamic group stated. Over two thousand people attended the seminar.

According to the communiqué’s resolution, among other things, participants have shown that the nation’s problems include drug abuse, illiteracy, poverty, and youth unemployment.

The communiqué states in part that “it also requested the reversal of fuel subsidy subsidies policies that are responsible for current economic stagnation and other vices.”

It further admonished attendees to follow the law, stay watchful, and promptly report any suspicious person or activity to the appropriate authorities so that law and order can be upheld.

According to the JIBWIS, President Tinubu’s listening ear is praiseworthy considering the aspirations of Nigerians, particularly over the matter of ECOWAS suspending certain of its member nations for toppling their duly elected governments.

As the largest employer of labor-intensive food security in the nation, it seemed appropriate for the Federal Government to step up efforts to enhance agriculture.

The seminar demands that the nation’s poverty, insecurity, unemployment, and hunger be addressed at all levels of government. According to the communiqué, the seminar prayed for the prosperity, unity, and peace of Nigeria as well as all of Africa.

Nigerians seeking their rights should steer clear of movements that divert attention, the JIBWIS advised.

It further stated that the nation’s political, security, and economic stability depend on the government and all those in positions of leadership fostering honesty.

During the program, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, the national leader of JIBWIS and the Council of Ulama, cautioned Muslims to start fasting at the same time as the crescent is sighted.

“Muslims should have a common goal and begin the mandatory thirty- or twenty-nine-day fast during Ramadan when they collectively see the new crescent,” he declared.

According to the preacher, Islam is a religion of oneness, and Muslims are obligated to start as soon as they see the moon.
