No fewer than two persons were confirmed dead and 11 others sustained injuries as a suicide bomber blew himself up next to a convoy of security personnel in Jalalabad City, the capital of Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province on Friday.
Provincial Governor’s Spokesman ,Attaullah Khogiani, who confirmed the development on Friday,said the suicide bomber targeted a caravan of law enforcing agency at 2:00 p.m. local time, killing two civilians on the spot and wounding 11 other civilians.
Without providing more details, sokesperson said that an investigation was initiated.
A similar attack on a mosque in a far-flung area of Nangarhar province last Friday claimed the lives of more than 60 people and injured more than 30 others.
