Nigeria’s Super Eagles will pocket $5,000 for every goal scored at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as the Nigeria Football Federation steps up efforts to motivate the team.

SCORENigeria reports that the goal-based incentive is part of a broader NFF strategy to boost players’ morale and sharpen performance at the continental tournament.

The federation, working with the Federal Ministry of Sports, has previously deployed similar incentives during the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifying campaign.

That approach paid off on Tuesday when Eric Chelle’s side earned a $10,000 bonus after defeating the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

The Super Eagles will now aim to add to their earnings when they face the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in their Group C fixture scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. Nigeria time.
