Prior to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Super Falcons’ opponents in Group B have been using aggressive language.
Bev Priestman, the head coach of Canada, believes that their team would benefit from having faced the former African champion.
“Our recent success [in defeating Australia and Nigeria] is encouraging. There aren’t any simple games, though, in my opinion. Even Ireland, who recently drew with Sweden and has a very seasoned coach in Vera Pauw, will be looking to establish their legitimacy in 2018 World Cup’s opening match. More than everything, I’m thrilled, especially to acquire a home country. That’s going to create an amazing environment, in my opinion.
Manchester United demonstrates that life after Cristiano Ronaldo is better.
Vera Pauw, the coach of Ireland, added: “That initial game [against Australia] is wonderful – it’s fantastic. Australia has a sizable Irish population, so I imagine many people there will be conflicted about which candidate to back. It’s unfortunate that we were paired with Nigeria’s toughest team in Pot 4, but we won’t be intimidated. Although difficult, this group is really exciting.
The teams in the group are not easy prey, according to Tony Gustavsson, the coach of the host nation.
Someone emailed me to say, “Yeah, it’s a rough draw, we got the top opponent in Pot 2, the third-ranked opponent in Pot 3, and the top opponent in Pot 4. There are no simple games, though, if you look at the bracket and competition. Knowing your opponent and making the greatest preparations are the key, according to Gustavsson.
