In the wee hours of Sunday, commercial motorbike riders in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), burned to death a suspected motorcycle thief.

The event happened in the neighborhood near Bakusa Bridge. The suspect’s remains were burned after being dumped on a trash lot.

Ibrahim Aliyu, a witness, estimated the incident’s time at a few minutes after 12 a.m. He claimed that as the motorcycle approached the bridge, the deceased, who was thought to have ridden on from Karmo town in the FCT, reportedly ordered the rider to halt.

He stabbed the Okada man in the neck while pretending to be sick. Unfortunately for him, other riders caught up with him as he tried to flee with the bike, and he was quickly apprehended, slain, and set ablaze,” Aliyu continued.

According to reports, the biker was taken to a hospital for treatment.

As of the time the report was filed, attempts to contact SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, remained unsuccessful because she did not answer her phone or reply to messages left for her.
