Babatunji Wusu –
An eighteen-year-old boy known only as Mubarak has been placed under arrest for the murder of Mrs. Sidikat Anuoluwapo, the boss of his mother, over a cell phone valued at N80,000.
One of her granddaughters, who had just returned from school, discovered the dead body last Thursday in the afternoon inside her room in a pool of her own blood.
The victim’s cell phone was discovered on the suspect following an investigation by the Ikare Akoko police.
Reliwan, a 20-year-old suspect, was allegedly identified by Mubarak as his collaborator. Together, they brought police detectives to the murder scene in Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko’s Similoluwa neighborhood, where they demonstrated how to scale the fence.
It was discovered that Mubarak is the victim’s casual housekeeper and cleaner’s son.
Witnesses claimed that he used to go to the house with his mother to work.
Oluwasuen, his mother, was rumored to have been detained.
“The two suspects disclosed that they scaled the fence and not through the main gate in the afternoon,” a police source said.
After gaining access, they proceeded directly to the room where the deceased was laying on her bed following her delivery that afternoon. They admitted using a wooden box to break her head while the other suspect choked her.
One of the suspects’ mothers worked as the late Mrs. Adamolekun’s part-time housekeeper and cleaner. She would occasionally accompany the suspect to work.
It was discovered that the case has been moved to the Akure police headquarters.
