The final group of 23 hostages was freed six months after terrorists attacked a train and abducted a large number of passengers.

Usman Yusuf, the secretary of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, made this revelation in a statement.

The attack on the train headed towards Kaduna was covered by THE PREMIER NEWS on March 28.

Before the terrorist incident in a Kaduna neighborhood, the train had left Abuja for Kaduna.

Numerous passengers on the train were abducted, but many more were not.
Earlier, after receiving ransom payments from the relatives, the militants freed some prisoners in batches.
