The National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) sessions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will now take place on July 18 and 19, 2023, respectively.

The postponement is required by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s regional and sub-regional schedules and engagements, according to a statement from the APC’s National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, who also assumed the role of ECOWAS chairman on Sunday.

As the new Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, Tinubu replaced Guinea-Bissau’s Umaro Embalo.

Since taking office as Nigeria’s president on May 29, 2023, Tinubu has only participated in one African event, the 63rd Ordinary Session summit.

The party, according to Omisore, regrets any difficulties caused by the cancellation of the APC National Caucus and NEC sessions.

Recall that the NEC meetings for the APC were initially set on July 10 and 11.

APC State Chapter Chairmen will meet with the National Working Committee (NWC), which is led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, at the national secretariat in Abuja today at 1 p.m.

The meeting’s purpose is to give state leaders an update on the nominations for the party’s statutory and ad hoc committees before they are presented to the NEC for approval.
