Babatunji Wusu –
As a sign of respect for Ms. Khadijat Yahaya, an APC member who died following an attack by suspected thugs, the party has paused its campaign for the Nov. 11 Kogi Governorship Election.
This was mentioned in a Lokoja statement by Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the state Campaign Council’s spokesperson.
After an altercation between Social Democratic Party (SDP) and APC supporters in Kotonkarfe on September 29, Khadijat is said to have died.
Alhaji Usman Ododo, the state’s APC governorship candidate, paid a visit to the deceased’s family on Tuesday in Kotonkarfe to express his condolences for her passing.
Ododo expressed shock at her passing and asked God to grant her soul peace.
Malam Saliu Akawu replied and thanked Ododo for coming.
According to Akawu, Ododo’s actions demonstrated that he was a kind leader who would always relate with his followers.
He claimed that Khadijat was a very peaceful person whose life was tragically taken by wicked people.
Ododo also paid a visit to Alhaji Abdulrazak Koto, the palace of the Ohimege of Kotonkarfe, where he conveyed his sorrow over Khadijat’s passing.
He described her as a woman of peace who desired to see Kotonkarfe thrive and pledged to ensure justice for the family of the deceased.
