Tunji Wusu –
Following the viral recordings of LASTMA soldiers and officers fighting across Lagos state, the LASTMA vows that such an incident would not happen again.
Mr Bolaji Oreagba, the G.M of LASTMA, announced this on August 15, 2023, during a working visit to the LASTMA HQ by officials of the Nigerian Army’s 9 Brigade Command, commanded by Brigadier-General Adegoke Moses Adetuyi.
According to a statement issued by LASTMA’s Director, Public Affairs & Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, Oreagba stated that there is no love lost between the two sister agencies and that LASTMA personnel will continue to rely on support from the Nigerian Army and other security agencies throughout the state.
He emphasized that such an incidence would not occur again since existing channels of communication would be maintained and new hotlines would be investigated by the two agencies to always address concerns.
