Since it aims to undermine and dismantle the moral and religious fabric of our society, sex education should not be taught in schools, according to Minister of Education Mallam Adamu.

The minister stated that all available research showed that sex education in schools causes more harm than good to the pupils in his keynote speech at the 66th NCE meeting on November 3.

He continued by saying that he has instructed the Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council to swiftly examine the curriculum and remove any sexual education elements from the materials used in Nigerian schools.

He claims that during a recent trip to New York, a government official brought up some materials being used in schools for sex education, and I nearly passed out. I am among those who think sex education shouldn’t be taught in our schools.

Instead, such information and expertise ought to be disseminated by other methods already known to man.
