Salman Umar Hudu, 38, was detained in Abuja by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On February 14, the suspect was apprehended at a hotel after pretending to be the EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, and other Commission officers.
According to a statement from the EFCC, the suspect collected N100,000 from a person he persuaded to ‘manage’ any issue with the EFCC.
The statement continued, “The suspect has provided important information and will be charged to court upon completion of the inquiry.
