The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, has denied running recruitment adverts on some internet platforms.

Defying the assertions in the advertisement, the EFCC stated in a statement released on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, that it is not currently recruiting.

As a result, it issued a warning to the general public not to fall for the recruitment fraud.

The anti-graft agency further stated that in order to hold the masterminds of the fraudulent recruitment scheme accountable, their agents are currently pursuing them.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been made aware of certain online advertisements that purport to associate the Commission with fraudulent “ongoing recruitments.”

“At this time, the Commission is not hiring.

“Any recruitment advertisement not made public by the EFCC is to be ignored by the public.” The anti-graft agency stated, “Commission agents are pursuing con artists providing false information in this context and they will be held accountable.”
