Jeremiah Adegoke, the former pastor of Chef Dammy, is the target of a case brought by the Ekiti State government to the state High Court in Ado Ekiti.
Adegoke was brought before the court on behalf of 24-year-old Chef Dammy, whose true name is Damilola Adeparusi, by the Ekiti State Ministry of Justice’s Directorate of Citizens Rights.
The pastor and the Ekiti State Police Command are charged with violating Dammy’s basic human rights.
PremuimTimes reports that the DCR also requested that the court prevent Adegoke and the police from detaining Chef Dammy and that N10 million be given to the chef who gained notoriety following her unsuccessful effort to break a Guinness World Record as compensation for aggravating damages.
The chief pastor of Spirit Word Global Mission, Ekiti, Adegoke, is said to have ordered Chef Dammy’s arrest less than a week ago. Spirit Word Global Mission, Ekiti is the organization that allegedly funded Chef Dammy’s record-breaking cook-a-thon.
