In honor of Easter this year, the FG has declared Friday, April 7, and Monday, April 10, 2023 as public holidays.
Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister, announced it in a statement on Wednesday, April 5, in Abuja. Aregbesola asked Christians to imitate Jesus Christ’s qualities of selflessness, unity, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience as demonstrated by His earthly ministry in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shuaib Begore.
The Minister urged Christians and other Nigerians to embrace the occasion of Easter celebrations this year to pray for an end to the country’s security issues. Security is a concern for everyone.
I therefore implore Nigerians and foreigners living in our nation to show a strong sense of civic responsibility and altruism by aiding the efforts of our security forces to bring about peace.
