Babatunji Wusu –
The Ondo State Police Command recently made a significant arrest, apprehending a 31-year-old man named Yusuf Adenoyin. He was found in possession of eight dry human skulls, sparking shock and concern among locals.
Adenoyin’s arrest took place on June 10 during a routine stop-and-search operation in Isua-Akoko, located in the Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state. Upon interrogation at the State Police Headquarters, Adenoyin confessed that desperation due to economic hardship led him to abandon his palm oil business and delve into the lucrative trade of human skull trafficking.
He recounted how he was introduced to this illicit trade by an herbalist he met on social media. According to Adenoyin, he purchases the skulls from a middleman who sources them from graveyards. He then distributes them to clients, primarily in Osun State.
Adenoyin revealed that he buys each skull for N20,000 and sells them for N30,000 to N35,000 apiece in Osun State. Shockingly, he claimed that the eight skulls discovered in his possession by the police were accompanied by what he asserted to be a dog’s heart, coated with a fresh layer of flesh.
