A prominent businessman in Imo state, John Ugorji, who is thought to be the proprietor of Johnny Supermarket and Pharmacy, has been abducted by unidentified gunmen.
Ikenegbu layout in Owerri was the scene of the event, which happened last Friday at around 11 p.m., according to an eyewitness who did not want his identity published.

He claimed that Ugorji was taken as he shut down his business, got in his jeep, and was about to head home when the kidnappers approached and pushed him out.

The witness claimed that Ugorji “struggled to escape but found it impossible to move since one of his vehicle’s tires got stuck in a drainage.

He was taken from his car and pushed into one of the kidnappers’ vehicles. After successfully abducting the individual, the kidnappers fled in two vehicles in the direction of an unidentified location.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye, had not yet responded to the question as of the time this story was filed.
