The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced several key dates for its activities in 2023 at the conclusion of its management meeting on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
The Board has therefore authorized the start of registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to take place from Saturday, January 14, to Tuesday, February 14, 2023. However, as the Direct Entry (DE) registration would start on Monday, February 20, and end on Thursday, April 20, 2022, it does not include the registration for Direct Entry (DE) application papers.
The Board also set the date of its optional mock UTME as Thursday, March 16, 2023.
In order to avoid a scenario where candidates express interest in taking the mock-UTME, causing the various centers to commit human and material resources, only for them to not show up on the day of the examination, candidates are to note that they would be required to pay the sum of N1000 service charge for CBT centers for the conduct of mock examination at the point of registration. The centers won’t suffer any loss whether candidates show up or not under the new approach where candidates declare their interest by paying for the mock at the stage of UTME registration.
Additionally, the Board set Saturday, April 29, 2023, for the conduct of the 2023 UTME, which is anticipated to end on Monday, May 12, 2023, after taking into account its other obligations.
The Board recommends all applicants who want to sign up for the 2023 UTME to start creating their individual profiles as soon as possible (creation of profile code) before the official start of the registration process to prevent getting trapped in any ensuing congestion.
