Zahra and Hanan, two of President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughters, joined women from the northwest of Nigeria on Wednesday in Katsina to launch the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign.
However, the wife of the APC presidential candidate, Senator Remi Tinubu, attended the event in place of their mother, Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, who is the Grand Patron of the Tinubu-Shetima Women Presidential Campaign Team.
Speaking to the women of the northwest in the Katsina People’s Square, where the flag-off was held, Senator Remi thanked Katsina Governor Aminu Bello Masari and the good people of Katsina State for their years of friendship and support shown to her husband over the years and promised that if the party is successful in 2023, they would not abandon the north.
She also asked God to provide Masari the resources he needs to keep improving our country for many more years to come.
“I want to reassure you that if you support us in the election, we’ll be there for you and a partner in your success.
Senator Remi stated, “We will take all necessary steps to ensure that the north west and even the northeast have peace in their border.”
For her part, Nana Shettima, Nana Shettima’s wife and coordinator of the Northwest Zone Women Campaign Team, urged women in the region to back the Tinubu-Shettima ticket wholeheartedly in the 2023 election.
Additionally, Masari stated during the flag-off that Katsina State’s residents would support Tinubu all the way through.
In Katsina State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is with us at home. He joined our team before 1999. It’s not like we met him for the first time yesterday. We have known him for quite some time.
“APC is based in Katsina State, and APC members here in Katsina support him wholeheartedly. Masari remarked, “We supported him before, we support him now, and we support him tomorrow.
