In the event that the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) give in to pressure and revoke or suspend the cash withdrawal limit and Naira redesign policies, no less than 14 of the 18 registered political parties that are expected to participate in the 2023 general election have threatened to withdraw entirely from the process.
At a joint news conference held on Monday by the Forum of Chairmen of Nigerian Political Parties and the Forum of Candidates for the 2023 General Election, these positions were made public.
Candidates for the upcoming 2023 presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and House of Assembly elections participated in the candidates forum.
“We hereby announce our resolution that at least 14 of the 18 political parties in Nigeria will not be interested in the 2023 general election and indeed we shall not participate in the election,” Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze, the National Chairman of Action Alliance (AA), who was flanked by other national chairmen of political parties, presidential, governorship, senatorial, and House of Representatives as well as House of Assembly candidates, stated in the text read by the Forum spokesperson.

“We were asked to provide our assistance, and generous promises were made, but we feel that Nigeria should come first before any unimportant matters.
“These nefarious schemes aim to coincide the disturbances with the seven day grace period Mr. President requested from Nigerians to address the Naira crisis issue.”
Following that, the political parties and candidates gave the two CBN policies a resounding thumbs up and praised President Buhari for having the unusual bravery to make the difficult choices for the benefit of the populace.
The association urged bank CEOs to uphold moral principles and refrain from abusing their positions to harm the public.
“We are telling bank managers to avoid repeating the last situation, in which the CBN provided the new notes to them and many of them delivered them to the warehouses of some politicians while others started trading on them as a result of the artificial scarcity they created.
“POS operators, who are mostly bank agents, are unable to obtain funding from the banks. Even though CBN sent enough cash to these banks, ATMs and bank online applications are currently not functioning, they claimed.
