Three people lost their lives in a deadly road traffic collision (RTC), and nine others suffered varying injuries.

The incident happened on Monday, March 13 at around 2413 hours, was reported at 2423 hours, and FRSC personnel arrived at the scene at 2433 hours, giving them a reaction time of 10 minutes, according to a report from RS12.1 Bauchi Sector Command of the FRSC.

The report further revealed that the collision happened at Gada Daya village in the State’s Ganjuwa LGA on the Bauchi-Kano Federal Highway.

One Toyota Hummer bus that was being used for business reasons and had the license plate GKA519 XA was involved in the collision. The bus was carrying 22 passengers at the time.

The 22 people who were involved in the collision included 9 male adults, 7 female adults, 4 Mali children, and 2 female children. Of the 9 people who were injured, 3 were male adults, 3 were female adults, 2 were male children, and 1 was a female child. Of the 03 people who died, 2 were male adults and 1 was a female child.

Speeding and a tyre blowout were the likely causes of the traffic accident, according to the FRSC study (TBT).

The victims were transferred to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, for treatment, while the dead were placed in the hospital’s mortuary, according to the FRSC operatives’ course of conduct.
