In an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation, Nigerian YouTuber Emdee Tiamiyu apologized for his remark regarding Nigerian students studying in the UK.
In response to the criticism he received after the interview, the YouTuber issued an apology in a video that he posted on his channel on Wednesday.
Tiamiyu, a well-known expert in advising Nigerians on studying in the UK, asserted that many of them were not seeking fresh credentials but rather to begin a new life abroad.
In a video he posted on Wednesday morning, he expressed regret and said he had agreed to the interview so that he could discuss the true struggles that the black community faces.
I am doing this from the reflections and sincerity of my heart that you have seen in the interview/news item, the speaker declared. If this has caused you any inconvenience, please accept my sincere apologies.
“I am truly sorry if anything you have seen being disseminated has caused you even the slightest amount of discomfort.
“And why do I say sorry? Because I feel even more sorry for any suffering you may be experiencing because, if we were to meet in person and be able to interact, I would only have love, advancement, and supportive thoughts for you. Those who are familiar with me in the outside world are aware of this.
There is no other reason besides granting an interview to discuss the true struggles the black community faces both at home and in the UK.
