The Bola Tinubu presidential campaign mass event, scheduled for Saturday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, has been promised to the public with adequate protection by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former governor of Lagos state and the party’s national leader will be returning home for the rally, according to Senator Ganiyu Solomon, the director general of the local organizing committee for the presidential campaign in the Lagos State Campaign Council, who made this statement yesterday while briefing newsmen on the events planned for the big rally scheduled to take place on Saturday.
Because Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, is so well-liked, Solomon predicted that many APC members and members of the general public will attend the event. Tinubu, according to Solomon, has remained the most dependable, largest donor, and most recognizable democratic icon since the start of the democratic era in 1999.
“You may wish to recall that Tinubu excelled as the Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007 and as a Senator of the Federal Republic representing Lagos-West Senatorial District,” Solomon says. The occasion is thus akin to a homecoming for our mentor and leader, who has emerged as a source of pride for the country.
As a responsible political party, it is essential to enlist the help of members of the public in order to temporarily divert traffic and accommodate large movements of supporters close to the event.
Solomon stressed the importance of the rally’s security arrangements, assuring the public that men from the Nigerian Police Force, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, officials, and other law enforcement agencies would be fully mobilized to make sure the rally would be free of security violations and traffic snarls.
Additionally, he advised everyone attending the event to behave well and project a pleasant demeanor.
Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the party chairman in the state, echoed the DG’s comments regarding the security measures put in place due to the anticipated big turnout at the rally: “On the matter of security, we would endeavor to make the venue, extremely favorable for all.”
This is also the first time Lagos State would present a presidential candidate who has become well-known throughout Nigeria, according to Ojelabi.
“A large turnout is not completely ruled out. We guarantee that there will be a huge turnout and enough protection for every visitor.
“You only need to visit to witness the love the state’s residents will have for Tinubu. The party’s presidential candidate is someone the people of Lagos want to hear from. Everyone who will attend the demonstration has been adequately accommodated.
Speaking further about the preparations made for the rally, the party’s publicity secretary, Seye Oladejo, stated that the police, LASTMA, and other security agencies will be fully mobilized to ensure a rally free of any infractions. He also stated that there will be official accreditation for journalists who will cover the rally.
“We think we should have an orderly event,” he stated. There will be an accreditation tomorrow. We are considering everyone’s wellbeing since we have learned from prior campaigns that we have run.
