The late Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, left behind a son, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, who has disclosed that his father’s final wish was for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to be elected president.

This was spoken by Adeyemi, who represents the AFIJIO/Atiba, Oyo East, and Oyo West Federal Constituency, at the 84th posthumous birthday celebration of the late king that took place in Oyo over the weekend.

The new mini-stadium in Ode Aremo, Oyo, next to Alaafin’s palace, served as the location for the ceremony.

He urged young people to back Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s nominee for president (APC).

The congressman praised Tinubu for his significant contributions to the nation’s growth and urged young people to vote for the candidate who truly represents their interests.
We wish to thank Sen. Kashim Shettima and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our presidential candidate, he stated. The initiative is extremely important to us and to Oba Lamidi Adeyemi. His dying wish was for Asiwaju to be elected president. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima’s grassroots mobilizers received funding today to help them spread the word about the harbinger of success, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

“I want to caution the young people to look and be focused in order to know who actually loves them, who they can support, and who has their future at heart,” she said.
To commemorate the late monarch’s posthumous birthday, Adeyemi provided 1500 individuals with financial empowerment, opened an ICT Center, a building with three classrooms, installed motorized boreholes, and installed transformers. He also provided free medical care to thousands of his voters.

As individuals do commemorate posthumous birthdays, we planned a number of events and projects to commission and honor Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III on what would have been his 84th birthday today. We began by providing free medical services, including free diagnosis, free medication, and free food distribution among the four local governments.

“Following that, project commissioning was our next step. We turned on transformers, a borehole, an ICT center, and classrooms.

“To top it all off, Ode Aremo, where we are presently, was regarded as Oyo’s largest dumpsite. With Oba Adeyemi’s grace, we managed to turn things around. We are giving Oyo an establishment today that will be used for a variety of social events, he continued.

The Oyo traditional council (Oyomesi), represented by the Samu, High Chief Lamidi Oyewale, and the Mogaji of Adeyemi, Alhaji Hasan Oranlola Adeyemi, praised the congressman for having the interest of Oyo and her people at heart.

Among those present were the wives of the late king and queen, traditional leaders, and the chairman of the APC in Oyo State, Hon. Isaac Omodewu.
