President Bola Tinubu has accused Atiku Abubakar of presenting forged credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tinubu filed a counter-appeal before the Supreme Court, casting doubt on the veracity of Atiku’s academic credentials.

According to President Tinubu’s claims, Atiku used various names on two important academic diplomas.

Atiku is claimed to have used the name “Atiku Kojoli” on his primary school certificate and the name “Siddiq Abubakar” on his 1965 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) certificate, according to the president’s legal team.

The action is in retaliation for Atiku’s earlier Supreme Court lawsuit in which he accused the president of giving INEC a fraudulent certificate before to the 2023 elections.

The outcome of these accusations and the subsequent legal actions may have a big impact on the political climate in the future and the outcome of the presidential election.

In the upcoming months, the Supreme Court is anticipated to be crucial in deciding this divisive case.
