President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit.

The President touched down in Abu Dhabi at about 11:00 p.m. local time and was received by the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He said the annual forum convenes global leaders from government and business to advance discussions on sustainable development and innovation.

This year’s summit carries the theme, “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go.”

President Tinubu departed Nigeria on December 28, leaving Lagos for what the Presidency described as an end-of-year break in Europe. During the trip, he was last week sighted in France, where he held talks with Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the week-long summit.
