According to a statement yesterday from Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s media aide Tunde Rahman, the president-elect is currently in Europe on an investment mission.
He is billed to hold business talks with multi-sectoral players in manufacturing, agriculture, fintech and energy, the statement said.

According to the statement, the trip would also create a conducive environment for the president-elect to fine-tune his transition plans and programmes, as well as policy options without needless pressures and distractions.

“The President-elect will engage with investors and other key allies during the visit with the goal of marketing investment opportunities in the nation and his administration’s readiness to enable a business-friendly climate through policies and regulations,” the statement reads.

Meetings have already been scheduled with business leaders from a variety of industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, technology, and energy.

“Asíwájú Tinubu hopes to convince them of Nigeria’s readiness to do business under his leadership through mutually-beneficial partnerships premised on jobs creation and skills acquisition.

“Reviving the country’s economy forms a major plank of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the meeting is part of his efforts to re-establish Nigeria’s importance in the global economic chain and create empowering opportunities for the country’s huge youth population.”

In the statement, Tinubu reiterated his promise to launch his administration’s initiatives as soon as he took office on May 29.

“The president-elect has hitherto promised to hit the ground running,” it states. “The visit is reflective of his commitment to the promise as he has already begun talks with global actors in the important areas of the economy and security.”

Tajudeen Abbas, a candidate for speaker of the House of Representatives, and Benjamin Kalu, a candidate for deputy speaker, met with Tinubu. The Joint Task Team of the House of Representatives delivered them to him.

Prior to his inauguration as the 16th President, he is due back soon.
