President Bola Tinubu arrived at the Marriot Hotel in Berlin on Monday to attend the G20 ‘Compact with Africa’ conference. The event, hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, garnered the presence of other Heads of State and Government from CWA member countries, bilateral partners, and heads of international organizations.
President Tinubu was accompanied by notable figures from Nigeria, including Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, and Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power.
During the conference, leaders engaged in discussions centered around strengthening economic and business cooperation. The primary objective was to identify specific strategies to stimulate investments in crucial sectors such as energy, trade, infrastructure, and new technologies.
President Tinubu’s attendance at the investment summit reinforces his dedication to promoting foreign direct investment in Nigeria. His presence signifies a continuation of his globally recognized efforts in this regard.
Moreover, this visit also serves as an opportunity for diplomatic reciprocity. President Tinubu’s participation comes as a response to the invitation extended by the German Chancellor, who had recently visited Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria, from October 29 to October 30, 2023.
