Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has spoken publicly for the first time since President Bola Tinubu removed her from office. Her dismissal came on Wednesday during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting as part of a cabinet reshuffle.
Kennedy-Ohanenye, along with four other ministers, was relieved of her duties. The others include Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development), Tahir Mamman (Education), and Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (State, Housing and Urban Development).
In response, Kennedy-Ohanenye shared a letter of appreciation on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, expressing her gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve. She also thanked First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her support during her tenure.
Kennedy-Ohanenye vowed to remain dedicated to contributing to Nigeria’s progress, while reports surfaced that Ministry of Women’s Affairs staff were seen celebrating her departure.
