President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has touched down in Maiduguri to express his condolences to the state’s government and its residents following the devastating Alau Dam flood disaster. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Tinubu landed at approximately 3:15 pm.

Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Governor Babagana Zulum. The President’s visit includes a courtesy call on the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kaneni, after which he is expected to visit one of the many shelters set up for those displaced by the floods.

The recent flooding, which struck on Monday, has submerged nearly half of Maiduguri, resulting in significant loss of life and property. In response, the Borno Government has established 36 camps to provide support for the thousands of displaced individuals.
