Pre Tinubu

Baatunji Wusu –

Barring any last-minute changes, President Bola Tinubu will preside over his administration’s second Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.

President Tinubu succeeded Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, and the new Ministers were sworn in on August 21 at the Conference Hall, State House, Abuja.

The FEC is the government’s decision-making body, consisting of the President, the Vice President, who presides over the council meeting in the President’s absence, and the Ministers.

Cabinet meetings are also attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Staff to the President, and any other relevant government officials who may be invited to present papers.

The first FEC was conducted on August 28 at 12pm at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Although prior administrations held FEC meetings on Wednesdays, it appears that the President is shifting the Wednesday cabinet meeting to Monday.
