Babatunji Wusu –

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Immediate Past Deputy President of the Senate, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his initiative to reestablish Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s mutually beneficial commercial relationship, calling it as a crucial win in economic diplomacy.

Reacting to President Tinubu’s meeting with the UAE leadership on his way back from the BRICS summit in India, Omo-Agege, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State governorship candidate, said restoring and strengthening mutually beneficial economic relationships is critical to the return to sustainable development.

Senator Omo-Agege stated in a press statement issued by Mr Sunny Areh, Media Adviser to Senator Omo-Agege, that it takes a bold vision and aggressive diplomacy to restore the important economic relationship between both countries, which will eventually result in the restoration of direct flights and the lifting of the visa ban.

“Economic diplomacy is a critical component of the effort to get Nigeria’s economy back on track.”

We must capitalize on the potential presented by our relationship with key economic centers. That is why President Tinubu’s initiative and success in engaging with UAE leadership are praiseworthy.

“It strengthens my confidence and belief in the President to lead Nigeria out of its current economic quagmire and onto the path of prosperity.” “Once again, I believe Nigerians will see this as confirmation that they made the right decision in electing him as President on February 26,” Sen. Omo-Agege stated.

He asked the National Assembly and all Nigerians who sincerely want a better society to unite behind President Tinubu.

“Rebuilding our economy is a massive task. It is necessary to gain the support of the private sector and the worldwide business community for the initiative.

Fortunately, our President was able to accomplish that. We are on course to regaining our status as a major investment destination, according to Omo-Agege, thanks to the business community’s faith in Nigeria’s president and his economic plans.
