Tobi Amusan has vowed to fight the accusation of skipped drug tests, but faces the possibility of being suspended.

Amusan revealed the news on her Instagram account as she prepares to defend her title at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest later this month.

Even if an athlete has never failed a drug test, she admitted that she had been charged with three missed drug tests within a 12-month period, which might result in a two-year penalty.

“Today the Athletics Integrity Unit charged me with an alleged rule violation for having 3 missed tests in 12 months,” the woman wrote. Before the commencement of the World Championships next month, a panel of three arbitrators will hear my case and determine whether or not to f#ght the charge.

I am a CLEAN ATHLETE, and the AIU tests me frequently (maybe more frequently than typical). I was tested just days after my third “missed test.” I have FAITH that I will prevail in this situation.
