According to recent reports, another person has died as a result of the stampede during Asake’s Brixton event on October 16, 2022.

Recall that Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, died over the weekend from wounds she received during the stampede that occurred when fans without tickets attempted to push their way inside the arena.

The 23-year-old Gabrielle Hutchinson, who was working security at the concert, allegedly died in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police.

The Met Police reported that a “huge number of people” attempted to enter the venue during the Asake event, which had to be abandoned.

A 21-year-old lady who was injured during the stampede at Asake’s third sold-out performance at the south London venue last week is still in critical condition.

The three people who were in serious condition, including Rebecca Ikumelo and Gaby Hutchinson, who regrettably passed away, were all in the building’s foyer, according to the Met.

Detectives were “working diligently to determine precisely what happened on Thursday night,” the statement continued, calling the inquiry “big and complicated.”

Asake expressed sorry for the situation when he sent his sympathies to Rebecca’s family over the weekend.

The YBNL signee had issued a warning before of the concert to prevent fans without legal tickets from showing up at the venue. But hundreds of unticketed attendees rushed up and tried to ram their way in, causing a stampede.

The incidents in Brixton are still under investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
