Initially fleeing the scene and abandoning his vehicle, the driver has now turned himself in to the police. Hundeyin emphasized that the driver will be facing charges of manslaughter, with the court proceedings set to begin on Tuesday. The owner of the Honda Saloon car voluntarily surrendered yesterday evening and is scheduled to appear in court today, further underlining the accident’s unintended nature.

It was discovered that the driver was attempting to escape from officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) at the time of the unfortunate collision.
